My Pa

I feel so blessed to have had a wonderful childhood in Zambia, growing up with my loving parents and my three brothers. Pa started in Zambia as Headmaster of St Marks Secondary School in Mapanza, near Choma in Southern Province. I was home schooled by Ma and we were welcomed into the local community. Christmases were always spent with amazingly hospitable farming friends in Choma and lifetime friendships developed including with the Becketts. Pa then moved to ZBC and on to CMAZ in Lusaka where I did my secondary education with the 'Class of 80' as our Whatsapp group is known. More friends made for life! Ma was always busy making her own wonderful contribution through her athletics coaching at Kamwala school and setting up pioneering womens athletics clubs. Pa then became the first Headmaster of Mpelembe Secondary School in Kitwe and also did temporary covering roles at Chengelo and Lechwe schools (he couldn't stay away from Zambia...he kept finding opportunities to go back!). Seeing the tributes flooding in from all the 'old boys and girls' has been truly inspirational and hugely comforting to know Pa's legacy lives on. Indeed his was a life well lived and he enriched the lives of all around him. Love you Pa. Rest in Eternal Peace.
